Returns & refunds

You have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. This also applies to our pre-owned items.

Withdraw from your purchase online

14-day cooling-off period

Notify us within 14 days after the day you receive your item. If items from one order arrive separately, the period runs from the day after you receive the last item. You may also withdraw before delivery.

Send a clear withdrawal statement to info@secondhandties.com, or contact us using the details on our Contact page. You can use the model form below, but it is not compulsory.

Sending your return

Return the items within 14 days after notifying us. You pay the direct cost of return postage for a change-of-mind return. Pack the items securely and keep proof of posting.

You may inspect an item as you would in a shop. You are only responsible for a reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. Original packaging is not a condition for exercising your withdrawal right.

Refunds

We refund within 14 days after receiving your withdrawal notification, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed, without a refund fee. We may withhold the refund until we receive the items or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever occurs first.

If you withdraw from the entire order, we also refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Any extra cost of a premium delivery choice is not refunded. For a partial return, the original delivery charge is not normally refunded.

Partial returns under the 3-for-2 offer

For a partial change-of-mind return for a refund, we recalculate the offer using only the ties, pocket squares, bow ties and cufflinks you keep, at their prices when you ordered. For every complete set of three eligible items kept, the cheapest is free; with six kept, the two cheapest are free. If you keep fewer than three eligible items, no 3-for-2 discount applies.

Your item refund is the original amount paid for the items, after the offer discount, minus the recalculated amount for the items you keep. A returned item that was free does not necessarily produce a refund. Delivery charges are handled as described above. We explain the calculation by email.

Example: three items priced at €59, €39 and €29 cost €98 under the offer. If you return the €59 item, you keep €68 worth of items without the offer and receive an item refund of €30. If you return only the free €29 item, the two retained items still cost €98, so the item refund is €0.

Voluntary exchanges

If you would like to exchange one item for another tie, email info@secondhandties.com before sending it back. We arrange the exchange personally with you by email, including the choice of replacement tie.

For an exchange agreed by email, Secondhand Styling pays both the return postage and the postage for the replacement tie. If your order used our 3-for-2 offer, the offer remains in place for this agreed exchange.

This voluntary exchange service is separate from your statutory right to withdraw and receive a refund. The change-of-mind return postage rule above applies to ordinary returns for a refund.

Faulty or incorrectly described items

The change-of-mind return postage rule does not apply to a justified complaint about a faulty or incorrectly supplied item. Contact us to arrange a solution without cost to you. Second-hand status does not remove your statutory rights.
